Express Entry is a fast processing system for Skilled Workers in Canada and abroad to gain Canadian permanent residency. Eligible applicants apply under one or more of the programs, Federal skilled worker program, Canadian experience class, Federal skilled trade program.

How Express Entry Works
The system is based on a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) which assign scores to each candidate. Candidates then will be ranked against other applicants in the system. The higher ranking candidates will be invited to apply for permanent residency.

Express Entry Pathways
Federal skilled worker program(FSP)
For skilled workers who have
- at least 12 months of work experience and,
- a certificate, a diploma or a degree,
- moderate proficiency in English or French
Canadian experience class(CEC)
For skilled workers and international students who gained a Canadian degree/diploma/certificate AND
- at least 12 months of Canadian work experience, (paid co-op and internship work eligible), and,
- moderate to basic proficiency in English or French,
Federal skilled trade program(FST)
For skilled workers who have,
- at least 2 years of work experience in a skilled trade position *
- a full-time job offer, OR a Canadian federal / provincial issued qualification certificated
- basic proficiency in English
